Cel putin nu in Brazilia.

Rafale-BrazilBrazil gave up the intention to buy Dassault Rafale jets. Apparently, the reason that made them to back down is the “omnirole”.

According to local media , President Dilma Rouseff would have told this to her French counterpart during his recent visit in Brazil there is no chance for France to sell airplanes. At least not in Brazil.

And the reason is simple and pragmatic – Rafale costs twice more than it’s competitors, the F-18 Super Hornet and the Saab Gripen E/F.

However , it’s very , very hard to believe that a Rafale, as expensive as it is, can cost twice more than a Super Hornet , which is also extraordinarily expensive. A more plausible version is that Rafale costs double than Gripen and the exceptional American lobby keeps the Boeing jet in the competition.
