In plus, a avut foarte putine repere pe care sa si le ia in momentul aterizarii.

If you thought that only military pilots with expensive jet planes can land at sea, you were so wrong. A civilian pilot managed toland on the deck of an ocean liner with his ULM, an Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat, taking off after a few minutes.

According to daredevil pilot the ship in question isn’t a giant supertanker, but a fairly common ocean liber with a length of just 93 meters.

The upper deck, turned into an unsual runway,is much smaller, only 60 meters long and 15 meters wide. As the boat was moving at a speed of 9 knots, the small Foxbat’s landing was almost vertical. Same thing happened at take off, requiring only a few meters for the ULM to get airborne.

The pilot told it was the most difficult landing in his life, explaining that were very high turbulence about one meter over the deck.

“I won’t try this again”, he said.
