Ungaria are 14 avioane Saab Gripen luate in leasing din Suedia in 2006. Nu cu mult timp in urma, contractul de leasing a fost prelungit pana in 2026.gripen ungariaHungarian Air Force’s Saab Gripen fighter jet ensure, from the beginning of 2014, air policing mission over Slovenia.

Hungarians took over the mission from the Italians.

As the Baltic states, Slovenia doesn’t have jets able to ensure the integrity of the air space and. as a NATO member, the country is forced to turn to other states from the Alliance for these missions.

Because Hungary and Slovenia are neighborgs, the Hungarian Gripens won’t be deployed at Ljubljana AFB, but will operate on their own, in Kecskemet.

Since 2015, the Hungarian Gripen fighters could be deployed in Lithuania, at Siauliai airport, for air policing mission over the Baltic states.
