In perioada martie 2011-iulie 2012, generalul Victor Strîmbeanu a fost comandantul Aeroportului din Kabul, Afghanistan.carnu_fanica_fullChief of Staff of the Air Force (SMFA), General Carnu Fanica was placed in the reserves following a decree of President Traian Basescu.

At retirement, Lieutenant General Carnu received his fourth star on the epaulets and is now a “full” general.

Staff of the Air Force will be headed in the next period by Major-General Nicolae Tabarcea, deputy chief of SMFA.

However, from the information that circulates for a while in the Army, it seems that the new chief of Air Force will be General Victor Strimbeanu, currently the Head of the Training and Doctrine structure in the SMFA.
